The London Coffee Festival 2019: Our Coffee

With less than a week until we join forces with our sister company Percol at the London Coffee Festival 2019, we’re gearing up for what will no doubt be our biggest show of the year.

The final touches are being put to the stand, our champion baristas are donning their aprons, and the Ground2Ground volunteers are ready and prepped.

But first, coffee. After all, none of us would be here without it…

We’ll have a selection of blends for you to try from our Speciality Range of Espresso coffees, all of which are 100% Arabica. Come and try our Ethiopian Sidamo Espresso, with a characteristic and unmistakably intense citrus aroma – or our GreenCup Lot 92, a Kenyan Colombian blend with a smooth yet fully-flavoured taste profile that’s ideal for an espresso.

For those who prefer filter brew, you’ll be able to sample a unique range of speciality beans which will be freshly roasted for the festival by our artisan roasting house Peter Larsen Kaffe in Denmark. We’ll also be giving away filter coffee samples of our Organic Swedish Fika and Next Generation Blend from Colombia and Brazil.

We’ll even have Swedish Latte Art Champion, Alex Ntatsos, travelling all the way from Sweden to join us at the festival. Together with other professional baristas – he’ll be transforming these selected blends into a beautiful cup of coffee in your hand.

In other exciting news, we are this year’s unique provider of Cold Brew for Espresso Martinis served at all the festival bars. We’ll be using our Cold Brew Antioquia Reserve – a full-bodied Colombian with a mild, soft acidity and a light honey sweetness in the aftertaste. Perfect to keep the crowds buzzing all festival long!

Our main coffee bar will be home to a Löfbergs-branded, custom-built espresso machine from La Marzocco. Alongside this, we’re really excited to be showcasing two very special pieces of coffee equipment:

3Temp Hipster Brewer

This innovative filter brewer from 3Temp brings filter coffee to a whole new level. The big difference between the Hipster and other brewers is that it has no boiler. With three different brew phases, you can brew a cup or a jug – hot or cold – in three different modes: Single-brew, Batch-brew and Cold-brew. The Hipster also lets you choose your desired volume , and even has the potential for remote control!

The CPA – Coffee Particle Analyser

This new cutting-edge device from Löfbergs and 3Temp is an optical measuring tool designed to give a greater precision in determining particle size for coffee grinding. With the ability to connect the device wirelessly to smartphones, tablets or computers, this is a neat and compact solution for individual coffee shops, companies and other retail environments.

On the Percol side, you’ll be able to sample different flavours from their brand new Plastic-free range of Ground, Beans and Coffee Bags. Fairtrade, Organic and RA certified, this entire range now comes in fully home compostable packaging, meaning you can throw the packs straight in with your food scraps! Also on site will be Percol’s range of Fairtrade and Organic Iced Coffees, available in two tempting flavours – Flat White and Protein Latte.

We’ll be giving away free samples of products from the full Percol portfolio, so make sure you come by to pick up a pack or two!

Panel Discussion on ‘Coffee in Crisis?’ at the Lab with speakers from Waitrose, A Plastic Planet, the Fairtrade Foundation and Managing Director of Percol David Brooks, to name just a few.

– The Löfbergs/Percol Ground2Ground scheme

– Chance to win a #Worldfirst coffee set including latest products from rCUP

We can’t wait for the show to kick off next week. If you’re coming along to this year’s festival, we welcome you to visit us at stand HP10 and sample some of our coffee for yourself!
